چکیده
Abstract This study proposes an advanced algorithm for predicting the optimal orientation in human manikin 3D printing. We can print mesh data on any scale depending user’s needs. Once printing was determined, were dissected based printer’s maximal volume using our previous work. Then, we applied newly proposed algorithm, designated as “per-pixel signed-shadow casting,” to each part calculate volumes of object and support structure. Our method classified original triangles into three groups—alpha, beta, top-covering—to eliminate need special hardware such graphic cards. The result is shown a two-dimensional bitmap file, “tomograph”. tomograph represents local structure distribution information visual quantitative basis. Repeating this tomography rotational axes resulted four-dimensional (4D) box-shaped graph. arbitrary easily determined from lowest-valued pixel 4D box several basic primitive shapes with different degrees symmetry complex shapes, famous “Stanford Bunny”. Finally, manikins scales. theoretical values compared those obtained analytical or g-code-based experimental volumes.

3D-Printing Plates without “Support”
When printing a plate (or dish) by an FDM 3D printer, the process normally requires support material, which causes several problems. This paper proposes a method for forming thin plates without using wasteful support material. This method requires several extraordinary parameter values when slicing plates. The experiments show that the plates can, for the most part, be successfully formed using...

Within our research, the human body plays a central role. The human body is one of the most visually fascinating shapes, but our research goes further. We focus on the dynamic aspects of the body regarding interaction. Within this paper, we focus on the creation of manikins for the training of chest compressions, which is an essential procedure during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). We exp...
متن کاملCerebral Aneurysm Clipping Surgery Simulation Using Patient-Specific 3D Printing and Silicone Casting.
BACKGROUND Neurosurgery simulator development is growing as practitioners recognize the need for improved instructional and rehearsal platforms to improve procedural skills and patient care. In addition, changes in practice patterns have decreased the volume of specific cases, such as aneurysm clippings, which reduces the opportunity for operating room experience. OBJECTIVE The authors develo...
متن کاملCasting a long shadow in the classroom
"What does one do when the giants pass away?" remarked a very famous microbiologist to me, soon after the death of Carl Woese in late 2012. I teach microbiology and introductory cell and molecular biology at a small undergraduate institution; Woese's example and contributions have long been part of every class I teach, and with good reason. Thus, I didn't know quite what to say to my colleague ...
متن کاملPer-Pixel Extrusion Mapping
Extruded shapes and patterns are widely used by graphic designers to increase the visual richness and realism of 3D models and virtual environments in general. However, the traditional approach that uses polygonal mesh is inappropriate for real-time rendering, in which, just a limited number of graphic primitives can be processed. Hence the interest of using per-pixel approaches. In this paper,...
